Who are HAP Group?
HAP Group was founded in March 2012 by an AP mum to support and meet like-minded parents in Hartlepool. The group was set up to normalise the AP style of parenting and to offer non-judgemental surroundings where parents can come and chat about how they wish to parent with freedom from being criticised. Since our humble beginnings meeting initially in her living room, the group has flourished.
We meet fortnightly at an cafe for tea, coffee, cake (sometimes bacon butties) and chat! We are an informal, friendly group and usually set a topic of conversation for the first meeting of the month. These topics are generally based on the 8 Principles of attachment parenting:
- Birth (natural birthing)
- Breastfeeding/Baby-led Weaning
- Bottoms (cloth real nappies and elimination communication (EC))
- Beds (safe co-sleeping)
- Behavious (Positive Discipline)
We do chat about the other areas of AP, but these fit most easily with the B theme!
We are a welcoming group and love to see new faces come along to join in.
Hartlepool Attachment Parenting Group are a non-profit organisation; we have a committee and welcome new members to join us.
If you would like to have your say on how HAP Group is run, please get in touch through the Contact Us page or come along to one of our regular meets.
